A DEVELOPMENT OF AN AI-BASED YORUBA TO ENGLISH TEXT-TO-TEXT TRANSLATION SYSTEM
Abstract
This study focuses on the development of an AI-based text-to-text translation system that bridges the communication gap between Yoruba and English speakers. Using advanced machine learning techniques, the project addresses the complexities of translating tonal languages like Yoruba into English. The system was developed and tested at the University of Mkar to provide an efficient tool for linguistic preservation and cross-cultural communication. The findings demonstrate the viability of AI in local language translation, although challenges remain in capturing deep cultural nuances.
