Abstract

Gender inequality continues to manifest through different dimensions in Nigeria, although it is more prominent in certain cultures than others. Women tend to experience unequal treatments especially in the educational, industrial and political spheres. This paper seeks to discuss the causes and effects of gender inequality and also the impact of copyright in bridging gender inequality. This paper also seeks to examine the local and international laws that protect and promotes gender equality in Nigeria and the need for Nigeria to formulate laws based on her national interests in order to address national needs. This researcher will therefore adopt both the doctrinal and non-doctrinal method in carrying out this research.
