STATISTICAL MODELLING OF SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED INFECTIONS ACROSS AGE GROUPS IN PLATEAU STATE, NIGERIA
Abstract
This study examines the distribution of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) across different age groups in Plateau State, Nigeria, using statistical modelling techniques. Secondary data were obtained from health institutions and relevant public health agencies. Descriptive statistics and regression models were employed to analyze patterns and relationships between age and STI prevalence. The findings reveal significant variation in STI occurrence across age groups, with higher prevalence observed among young adults. The study highlights the importance of targeted intervention strategies based on age-specific risk patterns. It concludes that statistical modelling is an effective tool for understanding STI dynamics and guiding public health policies.
