Abstract

INTRODUCTION 1.1 Background to the Study The Federal government of Nigeria has at one point or the other implemented several policies and reforms aimed at improving revenue generation and management. A country with a population of over 200 million people is well known for its vast oil reserves, which have been a significant source of revenue for the government. However, despite the country's vast resources, Nigeria has struggled with revenue generation and management over the years. One of such policies is the Treasury Single Account (TSA), which was first introduced in 2012. The Nigerian government has grappled with challenges in its revenue management, including financial system leakages and a lack of accountability and transparency (Nkechi et al., 2017).
