ISOLATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF MICROORGANISMS PRESENT IN THE EFFLUENT FROM LUBRICANT INDUSTRY
Abstract
ABSTRACT
Oily wastewater often contains a complex mixture of organic and inorganic substances that can significantly influence the microbial community structure. This study aims to isolate and characterize microorganisms indigenous to pharmaceutical wastewater, with a specific focus on identifying the microbial diversity and assessing the environmental impact of the effluent. The primary objectives of this research are threefold: to isolate and characterize the microorganisms present in the pharmaceutical wastewater, to determine the physicochemical parameters of the wastewater, and to detect the heavy metals within the effluent. The findings revealed a diverse array of microorganisms, ranging from Pseudomonasspp, Bacilluusspp, Aspergillus.Wastewater from Lubricant industry needs to be treated before discharging into water bodies in order not to harm the aquatic organisms.
