FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF HERBAL SOAP USING MORINGA OLEIFERA AS THE MAIN CONSTITUENT
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This study explores the formulation and evaluation of a herbal soap using Moringa oleifera, chosen for its antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory properties. Moringa leaves were dried, ground, and combined with a natural soap base of coconut and olive oils to enhance lathering and moisturizing qualities. Additional plant-based additives were included for improved aesthetics and functionality. The soap underwent physicochemical and microbiological testing, assessing skin compatibility (pH), cleansing ability, moisture contentamddurability. Results showed a stable lather, suitable pH for skin application, significant antioxidant activity, and mild antimicrobial protection, suggesting Moringa oleifera’s potential as a gentle, eco-friendly skincare ingredient. This research supports Moringa’s application in natural soaps, aligning with the demand for sustainable, skin-friendly products and encouraging further development of plant-based formulations
