AN ISLAMIC ASSESSMENT OF CAUSES AND EFFECTS OF DRUG ABUSE AMONG FEMALE KWASU STUDENTS
Abstract
This study examines the causes and effects of drug abuse among female students of Kwara State University (KWASU) from an Islamic perspective. Using a mixed-methods approach, the research identifies the socio-economic, psychological, and environmental factors contributing to drug abuse among this demographic. The study also explores the physical, emotional, and spiritual consequences of drug abuse, as well as its impact on academic performance and social relationships. The findings are analyzed in light of Islamic teachings and principles, highlighting the need for a holistic approach to addressing drug abuse that incorporates spiritual and moral guidance. The study recommends Islamic-based interventions and support systems to help female students overcome drug addiction and promote a healthier, more balanced lifestyle.
