IMPACT OF CASHLESS POLICY ON ECONOMIC GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OF NIGERIA

ABSTRACT This project work eramines the impact of cashless policy on economic growth and development of Nigeria The research pursued the following objectives: i. To determine whether there is any significant diference in the level of economic growth begore and during the cashless policy. ii. To assess the impact of cashless policy on deposit money banks customer deposits in Nigeria. iii. To find out whether there is any significant difference in the level of financial deepening before and during cashless policy.Relevant hypothesis were formulated and tested the research employed the quasi experimental and difterence of means to investigate the societal and economic impact of cashless policy in Nigeria. The findings of the research include that: i. ii. iii. iv. V. vi. vii.  There us significant difference in the development of the economy before and after the introduction of the cashless policy. There is significant difference in the growth of the economy before snd after the intro of the cashless policy. There is no significant difference in the growth of the banking sector before and after introduction of the cashless policy. 'The research recommends that Adequate and well functioning infrastructure must be put in place. Execution of cashless policy should be carried in phases. CBN to redesign its monetary policy framework
