Abstract

This study presents the design, construction, and evaluation of a functional prototype hand gesture controlled vacuum cleaning robot. The system integrates concepts from Robotics and Embedded Systems to develop an intelligent cleaning solution that responds to user hand gestures. The robot utilizes sensors, a microcontroller, wireless communication modules, and a vacuum mechanism to perform cleaning tasks. Hand gestures are captured using an accelerometer-based control unit and transmitted to the robot for execution. The prototype was evaluated based on responsiveness, cleaning efficiency, and ease of use. Results indicate that the system effectively responds to user gestures and performs cleaning operations with reasonable accuracy. The study demonstrates the potential of gesture-based control systems in enhancing user interaction with robotic devices.
