AN ASSESSMENT OF THE IMPACT OF INDUSTRIALIZATION AND ECONOMIC REFORMS IN NIGERIA UNDER PRESIDENT MUHAMMAD BUHARI ADMINISTRATION (2015-2023).
Abstract
The study critically assesses the impact of industrialization and economic reforms in Nigeria under President Muhammadu Buhari from 2015 to 2023. It evaluates key initiatives like the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP), diversification policies, and agricultural revitalization. While the administration showed policy ambition to reduce oil dependence, results were mixed, with industrial output remaining sluggish. The research identifies weak institutional frameworks, policy inconsistency, high inflation, and security challenges as significant barriers to success. It concludes that the reforms fell short of catalyzing sustainable industrialization
