Abstract

This project focuses on the design and construction of a charging port and onboard charger system for low-power electronic devices. The increasing reliance on battery-powered systems has created a need for efficient, safe, and reliable charging solutions. The study aimed to develop a functional charging system capable of converting alternating current (AC) to regulated direct current (DC) suitable for battery charging. The system was designed using key electronic components such as a step-down transformer, bridge rectifier, filter capacitors, and a voltage regulator. The charging port serves as the interface between the charger and the device, while the onboard charger ensures proper voltage regulation and current control during the charging process. The constructed circuit was tested for voltage stability, efficiency, and safety. Results showed that the system produced a stable output voltage with minimal fluctuations and was capable of charging a battery effectively without overheating. The project demonstrates that a simple, cost-effective charging system can be developed using locally available components.
