DESIGN A SIMULATION OF A SECURED WIRELESS NETWORK
Abstract
ABSTRACT
The problem identified in the wireless communication as the vulnerability in this project is intended to be addressed by designing and simulating a secured wireless network. The project will attempt to simulate a network with effective security measures in place including the encryption of the WPA2 and MAC address filtering and firewall incorporation using simulation programs like Cisco Packet Tracer. The wireless networks have transformed the manner in which individuals interact, communicate and exchange the information. Convenience in wireless connections has resulted in its use of preference over the use of wired networks, be it in homes or in businesses. But this is at a great trade-off security vulnerabilities. Wireless networks allow malevolent-minded parties to have easy access to information unlike wired networks where data transmissions are made available through radio waves hence they can easily eavesdrop, spoof, or even undertake denial-of-service attacks.
