IMPACT OF PRACTICAL WORK ON STUDENT'S ATTITUDE AND PERFORMANCE ON ANIMAL CELL IN SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS WITHIN BATAGARAWA METROPOLIS
Abstract
This project examined the impact of practical methods on students' attitudes and performance on animal cells. It was hypothesized that students who engage in hands-on learning would have more positive attitudes and higher performance than those who only use traditional methods. To test this hypothesis, a group of students was given practical instruction on animal cells, while another group was given traditional instruction. The results showed that the practical group had significantly higher performance and more positive attitudes than the traditional group. These findings suggest that practical methods can be beneficial for students' learning and engagement. The mean score comparison revealed a significant difference in the attainment scores of the experimental over the control groups. It is thus recommended that students be given ample opportunity to be engaged in practical lessons in secondary schools. This entails that the administration of schools supplies their labs with all equipment needed for practical work to be effectively implemented
