WEB BASED CLEARANCE SYSTEM FOR GRADUATING STUDENT (A CASE STUDY OF THE FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC EDE, OSUN STATE)
Abstract
The development of an automated clearance system is crucial for improving administrative efficiency in higher education institutions. This project presents the design and implementation of a Web-Based Final Year Student Clearance System for the Federal Polytechnic Ede. The system aims to eliminate the challenges associated with the traditional manual clearance process, which is often time-consuming, error-prone, and inefficient. The proposed solution leverages web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL to provide a secure and user-friendly platform that enables students to complete their clearance process online. The system was designed using the Incremental Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) model, ensuring modular development and testing at each stage. Key features include real-time data processing, improved record management, and enhanced accessibility for both students and administrators. The implementation of this system demonstrates significant benefits such as cost reduction, time-saving, error minimization, and transparency in clearance operations. Overall, the web-based clearance system represents a strategic step toward digital transformation in academic institutions.
