Abstract

This study investigates the impact of employee commitment on organizational performance, focusing on the relationships between loyalty, willingness to exert extra effort, and career longevity intentions with performance metrics. Utilizing a quantitative research design, data were collected from 50 employees across various organizations in Nigeria through structured questionnaires, the findings reveal significant positive correlations between the dimensions of employee commitment and organizational performance. Specifically, organizations with higher levels of employee loyalty and those encouraging extra effort tend to perform better. Additionally, employees with long-term career intentions contribute significantly to organizational success. The study concludes that fostering employee commitment is essential for enhancing organizational performance. Recommendations include implementing strategic human resource practices that enhance loyalty, motivate extra effort, and promote retention. The implications for practice suggest that effective leadership and a supportive organizational culture are vital in nurturing a committed workforce. Future research should explore longitudinal effects, sector-specific analyses, and potential moderating variables to deepen understanding. This research contributes to the field by highlighting the critical role of employee commitment as a driver of organizational success
