Abstract

ABSTRACT The relevance of quality in the fast food industry has become a critical factor for success in a highly competitive market. This study investigates the role of quality in shaping customer satisfaction, loyalty, and overall business performance, using 5&6 Spicy Apete in Apete, Ibadan, as a case study. As consumer preferences shift towards better food safety, service efficiency, and innovative menu offerings, local fast food establishments must adapt to remain competitive. The study explores key dimensions of quality such as food freshness, hygiene standards, and service consistency and how these factors influence customer behavior in the fast food sector. Through a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods, including customer surveys and interviews with management, this study provides insights into how 5&6 Spicy Apete has leveraged quality to build a loyal customer base while competing against larger chains. The findings underscore the importance of maintaining high standards of food quality and service delivery to achieve long-term sustainability. Recommendations are made for local fast food operators aiming to enhance their competitive advantage through improved quality management. This research contributes to the understanding of how quality influences consumer decisions and offers practical strategies for enhancing performance in the fast food industry.
