Abstract

The leaves of euphorbia hirta was analysed for possible bioactive components in its hydro-distillate and its crude ethanolic extract. The phytochemical profiling the presence of some of phytochemicals. The yield is 32.4% which indicate the plant is good source of certain phytochemicals. The DPPH is low, showing that they show slight antioxidant potential in this regard. The TPC on the other hand are more appreciable. The GC-MS analysis have revealed the presence chemical components in the hydrodistillate of Ephorbia hirta leaves the TPC and also revealed the presence of several chemical components in the ethanolic extract of the plant. These compounds contribute to the medicinal effect of the plant sample of human health. Keywords: Euphorbia hirta, phytochemicals, hydrodistillate, GC-MS analysis.
