Abstract

A filed experiment was conducted at the Nukkai irrigation farm research farm of crop science department, college of agriculture Jalingo during the dry season of 2024. It was carried out to determine the effect of poultry manure on the growth and yield of spider plant in Jalingo. The trial consisted five (5) treatments viz: O level (control), 2tones, 4tones, 6tones and 8tones/ha with three (3) replications. It was laid out in a randomized complete block design (RCBD) Data collected include plant plants height, leaf length, stem girth, cob height, seed yield 100seed height, harvest index . The data were subjected to analysis of variance (ANOVA) and means separation was done using least significant difference (LSD). The result obtained indicated that there was significant difference in all the treatment means at 5% the application of 100kg/ha of poultry manure produce the highest yield with means of 3.5cm and the least with means of 3.5cm. It was recommended that the application of 100kgpm/ha of poultry manure will give higher yield of maize in Jalingo.
