ROLE OF AVIATION TRAINING IN CURBING THE PERSISTENT MENACE OF AIRCRAFTS ACCIDENTS AND AVOIDABLE AVIATION LIABILITIES IN NIGERIA
Abstract
ABSTRACT
An aircraft accident is an occurrence associated ith the operation of an aircraft which takes place between the time when passengers embark until such time a passenger disembark from the aircraft. Any legal action for loss of damage to baggage personal injury or the death of a passengers based by an aircraft accident ill be covered. Accidents have been rampant in the Nigerian aviation industry from inception. It is this that prompts the researcher into delving into this is area. The researcher employed the used of questionnaires in sourcing for information needed from 100 respondents hich are residents of Offa Local government who have had international travel experience out of which 90 questionnaire were returned out of the 100 distributed. The percentage method was used to present the data in tabular form and chi – square statistics was used to test the formulated hypothesis. The study revealed human errors are the major cause of all aircraft accident within the Nigerian aviation industry and also that the Nigerian aviations industry can be compared to her foreign counterparts. It also revealed that ith adequate training the accident occurrences can be drastically reduced.
