Abstract

This study developed an Online Computer-Based Test (CBT) Examination Management System for Al-Istiqamah University, Sumaila to improve efficiency, transparency, and security in student assessments. Using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL, the system automates exam processes such as registration, authentication, question delivery, grading, and result display. The system follows the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and features a one-minute timer per question in a JAMB-like format. Testing showed that the system reduces examination malpractice, saves time, and ensures accurate result processing. It is recommended for wider adoption in Nigerian universities to promote fair and digital-based assessments
