Abstract

This study presents the design and implementation of a Pensioners Payroll System specifically for the Borno State Pension Board, aimed at addressing the challenges associated with manual pension management processes. The existing system was fraught with inefficiencies, inaccuracies, and difficulties in retrieving information, leading to delayed payments and dissatisfaction among pensioners. The proposed system automates the entire payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate pension disbursements while enhancing data management and record-keeping. Key features include user registration, integration of personal and employment data, automated payment calculations, and comprehensive reporting capabilities. The system employs a user-friendly interface tailored for administrators and pensioners, facilitating easier access and interaction. Utilizing a relational database management system, the solution is designed for high performance and scalability, accommodating a growing number of users and transactions. The methodology adopted included requirement analysis, system design, development, testing, and user training. The implementation of this system is anticipated to significantly improve operational efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance transparency in the pension disbursement process. Ultimately, it aims to ensure that the rights of pensioners in Borno State are upheld, providing a reliable and dependable payroll system that meets their needs.
