The study was designed to investigate the Effect of Conventional Class Teaching and Practical Techniques on Student's Chemistry Academic Performance Among Post Basic Schools of Tarauni Local Government Area, Kano State. Two research objectives, two research questions as well as two research hypothesis were formulated to guide the study. Quasi experimental research design was adopted and the sample size consists of sixty respondents (60) students respondents extracted from SS 2 students in two (2) selected Post Basic Schools at Tarauni Local Government, Kano State. For the purpose of collecting data in this research, an objective test was used for collecting data for the study. The research find out that, the Prevalence of Poor Academic Performance Among Secondary Students of Tarauni Local Government, Kano State is 50%., there is significant effect on students exposed with conventional class teaching and those with practical teaching techniques in term of chemistry academic performance among secondary schools in Tarauni Local Government, Kano State, there is significant effect on students exposed with conventional class teaching and those with practical teaching techniques in term of chemistry academic performance between male and females secondary schools students in Tarauni Local Government, Kano State.. Based on these results it is recommended that Teachers should create an atmosphere conducive to learning in order to enhance the development of students’ learning experiences.
