DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A COMPUTERIZED TRANSCRIPT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (A CASE STUDY OF AL-ISTIQAMA UNIVERSITY, SUMAILA)
Abstract
This project presents the design and implementation of a Transcript Management System (TMS) for Al-Istiqama University, Sumaila, aimed at automating the generation and management of academic transcripts.
The study identified the challenges of the existing manual transcript system, including delays, data inconsistencies, and lack of security. The proposed system provides a centralized, web-based solution that automates result management and transcript generation using role-based access control (RBAC) for Admin, Department, and Student users.
The system was developed using PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and JavaScript, with the jsPDF library used to generate transcripts in PDF format. Testing confirmed that the system ensures data integrity, reduces administrative workload, and enhances security and accuracy in transcript production.
The project concludes that the TMS is an effective tool for modernizing student record management, promoting institutional transparency, and aligning with global best practices in higher education administration.
