Abstract

It examines social media's impact on family bonds in Akungba-Akoko, identifying WhatsApp as the primary platform for communication. It finds that while social media enhances interaction and emotional closeness—especially for distant family members—it also introduces challenges like conflict, suspicion, and reduced physical togetherness.
