DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION DOCTOR APPOINTMENT SYSTEM
Abstract
ABSTRACT
The increasing demand for effective healthcare services has highlighted the limitations of traditional manual appointment scheduling systems in hospitals and clinics. Long queues, poor record keeping, and scheduling conflicts often result in patient dissatisfaction and administrative inefficiency. This project, titled “Design and Implementation of Doctor appointment System”, was developed to address these challenges by providing a web-based platform that enables patients to book, reschedule, or cancel appointments conveniently. The system was designed using HTML, CSS, PHP, and MySQL as the database management system, ensuring a secure, user-friendly, and scalable solution. Key features include patient registration, doctor profile management, appointment scheduling, and administrative control for monitoring activities. The system enhances accessibility, reduces waiting times, and improves resource management within healthcare facilities. Testing confirmed that the system performed effectively, meeting the objectives of reliability, accuracy, and usability. This work demonstrates that adopting technology in medical appointment scheduling significantly improves healthcare service delivery and patient satisfaction.
