ANTIBIOGRAM OF BACILUS STRAINS ISOLATED FROM CANNED FOODS SOLD IN AKWA IBOM STATE
Abstract
This study investigated the antibiogram resistance patterns of Bacillus strains Isolated from canned foods. A total of three canned food samples were analyzed und two Bacillus isolates were recovered and identified Antibiotic susceptibility festing revealed that the isolates exhibited varying levels of resistance to different antibiotles, with high resistance observed against ampicillin and tetracycline, The jindings highlight the importance of monitoring antibiotie resistance in foodborne pathogens and the need for improved food safety measures to prevent the spread of rexistant bacteria The result of this study have implications for public health and food safery, emphasizing the need for judicious use of antiblotles in food production and processing. High levels of resistance were observed against Gentamycin antibiotics, while susceptibility was generally maintained againsi Reflacine, Tarivid, Chloramphenicol, etc.
