Abstract

ABSTRACT Mobile learning (m-learning) is a transformative approach to education that leverages wireless devices such as smartphones and tablets to facilitate learning anytime and anywhere. This study explores the implementation of an Android-based multimedia tutor designed to enhance the learning experience for scripting computer languages such as Python, JavaScript, and PHP. Given the growing importance of digital literacy and programming skills across various industries, traditional learning methods often lack engagement and accessibility. To address these challenges, this study aims to develop an interactive and engaging mobile learning application that integrates multimedia components, including text, graphics, animations, and audio-visual content. The Android-based tutor is designed to provide learners with an accessible platform that ensures offline learning capabilities, interactive assessments, real-time feedback, and a structured curriculum covering fundamental programming concepts. The system utilizes Flutter, Dart, and Firebase, enabling cross-platform compatibility, optimized performance, and seamless backend integration. Additionally, the study highlights the significance of mobile learning in bridging the digital skills gap, particularly in regions with limited access to quality education, such as Nigeria. By enhancing accessibility, engagement, and learning outcomes, this study contributes to the advancement of mobile-assisted learning and presents an innovative solution for programming education. The findings underscore the potential of mobile learning applications in fostering digital literacy and equipping learners with essential programming skills for the evolving technological landscape.
