Abstract

This study investigated the effect of cash management practices on the corporate growth of Champion Breweries Plc, a major player in Nigeria’s brewing industry. The research focused on four dimensions of cash management liquidity management, working capital management, cash flow forecasting, and accounts receivable management and their influence on corporate growth indicators. Using a combination of primary data collected through questionnaires administered to 46 staff members and secondary data sourced from the company’s financial statements, the study adopted both descriptive statistics and correlation analysis. The findings revealed that efficient liquidity management ensures operational continuity, working capital management enhances profitability and reinvestment capacity, cash flow forecasting supports strategic investment and risk management, while effective accounts receivable management improves cash flow, reduces credit risks, and boosts investor confidence. The correlation analysis (r = 0.6015, t = 2.9125) confirmed a significant positive relationship between cash management practices and corporate growth. The study concludes that sound cash management serves as a vital strategic tool for sustaining growth and competitiveness in capital-intensive industries. It recommends that Champion Breweries Plc adopt robust liquidity policies, institutionalize cash flow forecasting, and strengthen credit control systems to optimize financial stability and long-term expansion.
