Abstract

ABSTRACT Efficient airline scheduling plays a crucial role in minimizing operational cost while maximizing service quality and resource utilization. This study applies the classical transportation to optimize flight schedules for Air Peace airline network, by treating flight availability as routes as the demand. The model all modulates aircraft to routes in a way that minimizes total operating cost while meeting demand and capacity constraints. Realistic data on flight availabilities and passenger demand are incorporated in the model The results demonstrate that the transportation model can effectively streamline route assignments, reduce idle aircraft time, and improve overall system efficiency. A cost –effective airline flights distribution plan was determined for the airline with a minimal total weekly operating cost of N 37,950,000 and will can including additional 235 dummy allocations of flights to nay of the route among other findings. The study therefore, recommends the plan to the airline industry in Nigeria.
