Abstract

ABSTRACT This research work examined Design and Implementation of a Road Transport Booking System, a case study of AKTC, Uyo. The current booking process is largely manual and inefficient, leading to issues such as overbooking, long queues at booking offices, delayed departures, and a lack of real-time information for passengers. These problems not only inconvenience customers but also hinder the company’s operational efficiency and profitability. The programming language used for the development of the system is Visual Basic 6.0. This language was chosen because of its flexibility and features for developing a software forRoad Transport Booking System. the study on design and implement a road transport booking system found that the systems can be effective in reducing long queues in transport booking in AKTC and generating revenue for the company. However, there are some challenges and concerns that need to be addressed before the systems can be widely implemented. These include privacy concerns, potential bias in the systems, and the need for clear policies and regulations. Nevertheless, the study found that the road transport booking system have the potential to make a positive impact on AKTC. The study recommends that Staffs should be trained on how to use the new system when installed
