DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF ONLINE STUDENT ASSIGNMENT SUBMISSION SYSTEM (A CASE STUDY OF DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE, IMAP LAFIA)
Abstract
The rapid growth of technology in education has made digital solutions essential for improving academic processes. This project focuses on the development of an Online Student Assignment Submission System designed to streamline the process of submitting and managing assignments electronically. The system allows students to upload their assignments through a web interface, while lecturers can view, download, and grade submissions efficiently. The traditional manual method of assignment submission is time-consuming, prone to loss of files, and lacks proper organization. By implementing this system, the department will benefit from improved record-keeping, timely submissions, reduced paper usage, and easier feedback delivery.
The project was developed using HTML, CSS, PHP, and MySQL. Testing of the system showed it to be functional, user-friendly, and capable of handling basic assignment management tasks in a typical academic environment. This solution aims to enhance the student and lecturer interaction and contribute to the digital transformation of educational institutions.
