EFFECTS OF DIFFERENT PRE-SOWING TREATMENTS ON THE GERMINATION AND EARLY GROWTH PERFORMANCE OF KHAYA SENEGALENSIS SEED. IN ALIERO KEBBI STATE NIGERIA
Abstract
This study investigates the effects of different pre-sowing treatments on the germination and early growth performance of Khaya senegalensis (African Mahogany) seeds in Aliero, Kebbi State, Nigeria. The research aimed to identify optimal treatments that would enhance seedling vigor and establish robust growth characteristics essential for successful reforestation efforts. Five different pre-sowing treatments were applied to the seeds, and their impacts on mean plant height, mean number of leaves, and mean collar diameter were evaluated.
