Abstract

ABSTRACT Laboratory logbooks are essential for documenting students' practical work, tracking progress, and facilitating instructor evaluations. Traditional paper-based logbooks present challenges such as loss of records, lack of accessibility, difficulty in collaboration, and inefficiency in feedback delivery. To address these issues, this project develops an Online Laboratory Logbook, a webbased system that automates the process of recording and managing laboratory activities. The system allows students to log in, select courses, submit daily and weekly reports, and attach relevant drawings or files. It also enables lecturers to assess submissions and provide timely feedback. Administrators oversee system operations, managing users and course assignments. The system is implemented using HTML, CSS, JavaScript (frontend), PHP (backend), and MySQL (database) to ensure a seamless user experience and efficient data management. The Online Laboratory Logbook enhances efficiency, accessibility, and collaboration in laboratory record-keeping. It minimizes paperwork, ensures secure data storage, and improves feedback mechanisms, making it a valuable tool for both students and lecturers.
