Abstract

In addition, natural excipients like shea butter (Vitellaria paradoxa), widely used in West Africa, are gaining recognition not only for their cosmetic and nutritional roles but also for their ability to enhance the delivery and stability of bioactive compounds (Akinmoladun et al., 2020). When combined, spear grass extract and shea butter present a potentially powerful natural formulation capable of inhibiting pathogenic bacteria, including Escherichia coli and Salmonella typhi two organisms frequently associated with foodborne illnesses, typhoid fever, and gastrointestinal infections (WHO, 2019).
