INFLUENCE OF OFFICE LAYOUT ON SECRETARIES’ JOB PERFORMANCE IN AN ORGANISATION

The study investigates theinfluence of office layout on secretaries’ job performance in an organisation. Three research questions were raised in the study. The population for the study was 51 which comprised of secretaries in Federal Polytechnic Ede, Osun State. The data obtained were analyzed using arithmetic mean method and standard deviation. The reliability was determined by using Cronbach Alpha reliability index which yielded a result of 0.77. Findings from the study indicated that office layout is very important to the job performance of secretaries, also,poor office layout influence secretaries’ job performance negatively. It was recommended among others that organization should map out programme for provision of good work condition to increase performance and promoting occupational safety and health of secretaries, also, organisations should ensure that there is adequate and proper improvement of office layout of secretaries so as to enhance their morale to work efficiently and effectively.
