Abstract

The comparative leaf epidermal study of Ageratum conyzoides L. and Ageratum honstonianum (mill) Astaraceae yielded the result obtained from the microscopy showed an irregular epidermal cell shape and a sinuous on the adaxial and undulate on the abaxial anticlinal wall pattern, and amphistomatic stomatal distribution on both the abaxial and adaxial surfaces of both species. Both stomata are abundantly anisocytic than anomocytic. These observations are important especially as they help to establish interspecie relationships among the two investigated taxa and hence suggest reasons for the two taxa to be in the same genus.
