Abstract

ABSTRACT This project presents the design and implementation of a Smart Phase Failure Protection Circuit for three-phase motors, featuring real-time phase failure detection and automated call notification. The system is designed to address the critical issue of motor failure due to phase loss, a common problem that can lead to significant equipment damage and operational downtime. The circuit utilizes an Atmega328P-PU microcontroller to monitor the voltage levels of the three-phase power supply and automatically detect any phase failure. Upon detection of a phase loss, the system immediately de-energizes the motor to prevent damage and sends a call notification to the user, alerting them of the fault condition. The project emphasizes reliability and user- friendliness, integrating components such as a SIM800L GSM module for communication and a magnetic contactor for motor control. Testing results demonstrate the circuit's effectiveness in providing timely alerts and protection, with call notifications received within seconds of phase failure.
