INVESTIGATION OF THE EFFECT OF 2013 SUDDEN STRATOSPHERIC WARMING (SSW) EVENTS ON GPS POSITIONING ACCURACY OVER AMERICA
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This project explores the impact of Sudden Stratospheric Warming (SSW) events on GPS positioning accuracy. SSW events, which involve rapid warming of the stratosphere, can lead to disturbances in the ionosphere and thermosphere, which in turn affect the signal propagation of GPS satellites. This write-up examines the mechanisms by which SSW events influence GPS performance and positioning accuracy, along with key findings from existing research in the field.
