FACTORS INFLUENCING GREEN ENTREPRENEURSHIP INTENTIONS AMONG UNDERGRADUATES IN NORTHERN NIGERIA
Abstract
Green entrepreneurship is essential for sustainable development and environmental protection. This study investigates the roles of funding, extracurricular activities, and cultural beliefs in influencing green entrepreneurship intentions among undergraduate students in Northern Nigeria. A descriptive survey design was adopted, and data were collected using structured questionnaires. The findings revealed that access to funding significantly enhances students’ intentions to engage in green entrepreneurship. Participation in extracurricular activities also promotes awareness and interest in sustainable business practices. However, cultural beliefs were found to both support and hinder entrepreneurial intentions depending on societal norms. The study concludes that improving financial access and promoting sustainability education can enhance green entrepreneurship among undergraduates.
