Abstract

This study investigates the effect of dyeing parameters on the percentage exhaustion during the dyeing of cotton fabric using Golden Yellow reactive dye. The experiment was conducted to analyze how variations in pH, dyeing time, and material-to-liquor ratio (MLR) influence dye uptake by the fabric. Dyeing was carried out at a constant temperature of 60°C, while the selected parameters were varied systematically within the following ranges: pH (9–12), time (20–60 minutes), and MLR (1:50–1:150). The percentage exhaustion was calculated to evaluate the dye-fiber interaction under different conditions. A pH of 10, a dyeing time of 40 minutes, and an MLR of 100 are the most effective parameters. Results from this study provide insights into optimizing dyeing conditions to achieve higher dye exhaustion, contributing to improved dyeing efficiency and resource utilization in textile processing.
