Abstract

ABSTRACT This project work presents a comprehensive overview of design and construction of a composite car park supporting a 5kva solar panels according to Eurocode:3 (used for steel and concrete composite structure) emphasizing on safety sustainability and the efficiency. The steps adopted include; site investigation site clearance, site leveling, setting out and fixing with the aid of setting out equipment’s such as measuring tape and tension handle, site square, Cowley or dumpy level optical bulb and lines. The dimension of the car park is 10.225 x 5.025m. The total area of the car park is 51.381m2. the materials used are mild steel pipe, angle irons, rectangular pipes, solar panels, rivets, base plate, cement, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate, and paints. The dimension of one panel is 1.65 x 0.9m and its weight is 18kg, and the total numbers of panels used is 36. The tools used are; rivet guns (pneumatic or manual), rivet sets, rivet holes drill bits, rivet punch (for removing old rivet), electrodes (sticks), hammer, tape, spirit level, square, line, cutting machine, welding machine, drilling machine, hack saw. The total area of the panels use is 53.46m2. 51 angle irons were used and each has a length of 6meters. The car park was design for class one vehicles and it has four parking spaces with concrete base and steel framed, roofed with solar panels the types of roofed used is flat roof at an angle of 11.54o
