Abstract

The impact of Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) on socio-economic development in (MMC), Borno state, Nigeria, involves enhancing local infrastructure, education, healthcare, and overall community well-being. As a case study, analyzing how increased IGR influences these sectors in Maiduguri would provide insights into the region's socio-economic progress. In Maiduguri, a rise in IGR can contribute to improved infrastructure through investments in roads, utilities, and public facilities. Additionally, increased revenue may support education by funding schools, scholarships, and educational programs, fostering human capital development. In the healthcare sector, better funding can lead to upgraded facilities, enhanced medical services, and improved community health. Overall, the case study would reveal the interconnected ways in which IGR positively influences various aspects of socio-economic development in Maiduguri Metropolitan Council of Borno state.
