Abstract

ABSTRACT This study investigated the effect of corporate strategic management on the financial performance of listed non-financial firms in Nigeria between 2014 and 2023. The study focused on three dimensions of strategic management: leadership structure, management quality, and strategic planning, and examined their influence on financial performance proxies by return on assets (ROA). The study employed an ex-post facto research design, using secondary data meticulously sourced from the annual reports of 84 purposively selected non-financial firms listed on the Nigerian Exchange Group ( NGX). Data were analyzed using panel regression techniques. The findings revealed the following: corporate strategic management[coef. = 0.491 (0.815)] had a positive but statistically insignificant effect on financial performance (measured by Return on Assets); social disclosure [coef. = 1.222 (0.577)]
