Abstract

This study focuses on the fabrication of a chair using simple metalwork tools and techniques available in Nigeria. The project demonstrates how locally available materials and basic tools can be utilized to produce durable and functional furniture. The fabrication process involved material selection, cutting, welding, assembling, and finishing. The results show that a strong and cost effective chair can be produced using simple techniques. The study concludes that local fabrication methods can support small scale manufacturing and reduce dependence on imported furniture.
