Abstract

Abstract: This study examines the impact of local government administration in enhancing rural development with a specific focus on Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. The research explores how local government policies, programs, and administrative structures contribute to the socio-economic growth of rural communities. Data was gathered through questionnaires, interviews, and relevant secondary sources to assess the effectiveness of local governance in providing basic amenities such as roads, healthcare, education, and water supply. The findings reveal that while local governments play a significant role in rural development, challenges such as inadequate funding, corruption, and poor implementation of policies hinder optimal performance. The study concludes by emphasizing the need for improved transparency, accountability, and community participation to enhance rural development outcomes.
