PREVALENCE AND FACTORS ASSOCIATED WITH HEPATITIS B VACCINATION AMONG UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS IN BAYERO UNIVERSITY KANO
Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications have become increasingly integrated into the daily lives of university students, particularly as tools for accessing information and learning. In recent years, AI-powered platforms such as chatbots, virtual assistants, recommendation systems, and health-related applications have emerged as alternative sources of sexual and reproductive health information. Undergraduate students often seek confidential, accessible, and quick health information, making AI applications a potential avenue for obtaining knowledge on reproductive health, contraception, sexually transmitted infections, and personal health concerns.
This study aims to examine the use of Artificial Intelligence applications as sources of sexual and reproductive health information among undergraduate students of Bayero University. The research will assess students’ awareness, frequency of use, trust level, perceived benefits, and challenges associated with AI applications in accessing reproductive health information. A descriptive cross-sectional survey design will be adopted, with questionnaires administered to undergraduate students. Findings from the study are expected to contribute to understanding the growing influence of AI technologies in health communication and provide recommendations for integrating digital health literacy into university education.
