Abstract

This study investigates the effect of interest rate fluctuations on the money market in Nigeria from 2014 to 2023. Interest rates play a critical role in influencing money market activities such as borrowing, lending, and investment in short term securities. The study adopts a time series research design using secondary data obtained from financial reports and publications. The findings reveal that fluctuations in interest rates significantly affect liquidity levels, investment decisions, and the overall performance of the money market. The study concludes that stable interest rate policies are essential for maintaining an efficient and balanced financial system.
