DETERMINATION OF PHYTOCHEMICALS,ANTIOXIDANTS AND MINERAL CONTENTS OF ACETONIC SEEDS EXTRACT OF MANGO(MAGNIFERA INDICA)
Abstract
ABSTRACT
Mango (magnifera indica L.) seeds, typically discarded as agro-industrial waste, are richinbioactive compounds with significant nutraceutical potential. This study comprehensivelyevaluated the phytochemical composition, antioxidant and mineral contents of Acetonicextract of mango seed. The qualitative phytochemical analysis of the acetonic extract of themango seed revealed the presence of Alkaloids, Tannins, Terpenoids, Flavonoids, Phenolics, Steroids and the absence Glycosides and Saponins. Antioxidant analysis was carriedout
using the total DPPH method. Some minerals constituent analysis was also carried out. Theantioxidant activities determined at 1000μg/ml, DPPH (98.05 ± 0.42), Calcium(388.33±15.04mg/L), potassium (380.33 ± 3.65 mg/L), Magnesium (97.67 ± 2.31 mg/L), Iron(2.59± 2.21 mg/L) , sodium (19.3 ± 0.03 mg/L) and zinc (0.91 ± 0.05mg/L) .Therefore this studywas carried out to determine/evaluate the phytochemicals, minerals and antioxidant analysisof acetonic seed extract of mango ( magnifera indica )
