Abstract

This project focuses on the design and implementation of a network monitoring and alerting system. The primary objective is to provide a reliable, scalable, and secure platform that allows administrators to monitor network devices, detect anomalies, and generate alerts in real time. Traditional monitoring setups face challenges such as lack of automation, limited scalability, and risks of delayed responses to failures. These issues hinder efficient network management and reduce organizational productivity. To address these problems, this study leverages technologies such as SNMP, Python-based monitoring scripts, MySQL database, and notification APIs integrated into a web-based dashboard. The proposed system enhances real-time monitoring, improves incident response, and ensures data security through encrypted communication. The result is a cost-effective and efficient network monitoring and alerting solution that improves visibility, reduces downtime, and strengthens IT infrastructure management.
