DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A LAN CHAT APPLICATION FOR INTRANET COMMUNICATION
Abstract
This project addresses the design and implementation of a LAN Chat Application intended for
real-time communication within a Local Area Network. Organized into five chapters, the report
covers the background, literature review, methodology, implementation, and conclusion.
The system demonstrates how a lightweight yet efficient LAN-based chat system can significantly
improve real-time communication, collaboration, and information sharing within a closed
network environment such as the Kano State Polytechnic community, reducing reliance on
external internet bandwidth and enhancing data privacy.
